Shelby Kemp

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, the rainy weather and sea of evergreen trees provided the perfect environment for me to develop an expansive imagination and a love for the arts.

By the age of 15, I was already considering myself a painter, having been featured in my high school art shows. After going to college and earning my associate’s degree in business, I made the leap to Las Vegas where I had the opportunity to work with Boyz II Men during their Las Vegas residency. Seeing what Las Vegas had to offer creatively, I decided to make it my permanent home.

Once in Las Vegas, I enrolled at UNLV to study Fine Arts with a focus on both painting and photography.

I have since had the incredible opportunity to photograph all sorts of people. From models, music artists and actors to business owners, families and happy couples.

Since 2019 I have been the personal photographer for music artists with a Las Vegas-based record label. Capturing and creating everything from album covers to live concerts, even directing a few music videos.

From 2022 to 2024, I photographed the UNLV Lady Rebels Basketball and Softball teams. I covered the 2023 Mountain West Conference Tournament & Championship Game aired on CBS Sports Network and the Mountain West Network. This extended to photographing the NCAA Championships during March Madness 2023 in Baton Rouge, an event aired on ESPN and ESPNU.

I have a deep passion for photographing portraits. This is where I can capture the unique personalities, emotions, and essence of my subjects—whether it’s through the emotion of a candid moment or the details that reveal the character of the individual.

My ultimate dream is to travel the world, using my camera to document the diverse beauty of the people, cultures, landscapes, and animals I see along the way. I aim to create powerful stories through my photography, aspiring to one day be featured in National Geographic.
